The second round of the 2016 MRF MoGrip FMSCI National Supercross Championship for two-wheelers will be held at Codessia in Coimbatore this weekend, with over 100 riders confirming participation across eight categories.
Reigning SX1 champion Aravind KP, who won the opening round in Goa in April, and his TVS Racing teammates Abdul Waheed Tanveer and Rugved Barguje are some of the top names in contention, along with privateers Jignesh Patel, Prince Singh and Jatin Jain, a press release from the organisers said.
Supercross is a motorcycling sport that involves off-road motorcycles racing on artificially-created dirt track consisting of steep jumps and obstacles.
The technically-demanding track in Coimbatore is 750m in length and includes 12 double jumps, a cuttable top, a tabletop apart from whoops and berms, the release further stated.
The other four rounds are scheduled to be held in Jaipur, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Pune.
