We need police officers like DYSP Gayatri Pawar, who not only participated with the civilians/citizens with a smiling face, but she gelled with others as a participant and not as a police officer.

It was the first time that Pune police had participated in the Women’s Rally to the Valley; it was the Inspiration from the Hon. DIG N. K. More Sir of Maharashtra State says DYSP Gayatri Pawar (Motor Transport IGMT – from the office of Inspector General of Motor Transport, Maharashtra State).

Since the Amby valley falls under the jurisdiction of Pune Police, I asked the lady officer “Whether it was a full participation or was it a double role played by the police to make sure the safety of the Women and the successful completion of the rally” to which DYSP Gayatri Pawar, who participated as a Navigator replied “No it was full participation, and we really enjoyed every bit of it”

Her views were confirmed when I saw her and the team arriving at the final point as expected, and not after everybody has reached the end point.

I mean many cars arrived after them. That also says that they followed all the rules, and did not overtake others and reaching early. Their timing was perfect as expected.

I found this lady officer a humble and down to earth, who was open in talking and mingling with other ladies participants. While interviewing her, I did not see any ego or any attitude, and to be honest, we all saw a friendly police staff present amongst us during the whole event.

I appreciate the initiative taken by the Gentlemen DIG N. K. More sir in setting a perfect example for the women empowerment. The senior officers from all around should take this initiative and engage more and more women staff and officers in social activities.

This is the best way to bond with the citizens, to be friend with. The more the police talks and laughs with the citizens the more they come together and understand and help each other.

Said DYSP Gayatri Pawar “Inspiration of Hon. DG Jaisawal Sir, and Guidance of DIG N.K More sir gave us this wonderful opportunity, encouraging and guiding us to take part in the Women’s Rally To The Valley.”

She also appreciated the management and organisers of the event, and she plans to take part in the rally next year too.
